JOHANNESBURG – Officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, along with the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), have taken part in the ITC Global SME Ministerial Meeting held in South Africa.

The gathering took place in Johannesburg and focused on key areas affecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including access to finance, digital transformation, and the shift toward green and sustainable practices. The meeting brought together government representatives, SME leaders, and trade experts to explore how these levers can help drive economic transformation and boost resilience in developing economies.

Eswatini was represented by EIPA Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu, Director of the MSME Unit Mluleki Dlamini, CEO of the Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) Khethiwe Mhlanga, and EIPA Executive Manager for Trade Promotion Sibusiso Mnisi.

Alongside the ministerial segment, the International Trade Centre (ITC) also hosted the Trade Promotion Organisations (TPO) Leadership Dialogue, which focused on guiding national SME departments and TPOs in building stronger institutions that support small businesses.
