Cape Town, South Africa, will host the inaugural Africa Executive Trade and Investment Business Forum (AETI) from 15 to 16 October 2026, bringing together business executives, investors, project developers and industry leaders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen private sector partnerships across Africa.
Organised by Gettha Agency, the two day forum will take place under the theme “Powering Africa’s future: private sector fuelling next-gen growth”. It is designed to connect decision makers from six key industries, namely infrastructure, information and communications technology (ICT), mining, agriculture, finance and energy.
The gathering will target senior executives, procurement officers, subcontractors, project leaders and investors seeking opportunities to finance projects, develop commercial partnerships and expand their operations across African markets.
According to the organisers, the forum is designed to move beyond conventional networking by providing participants with opportunities to present projects, engage potential financiers and pursue business agreements.
The programme will feature roundtable discussions, private matchmaking sessions and dedicated project presentation slots, allowing companies to outline their proposals and engage potential partners directly.
Focus on private sector investment
AETI is positioning itself as a platform for private companies to take a leading role in developing commercially viable projects and strengthening trade between African countries.
The organisers intend to bring together businesses with investment proposals and financial institutions seeking bankable projects, creating opportunities for collaboration across different sectors.
The forum will also promote intra African trade and partnerships, with public private partnerships identified as one of the approaches through which businesses can support economic growth and infrastructure development.
Participants will include chief executive officers, managing directors, investment bankers, engineering, procurement and construction project leaders, funding bodies, procurement officers, project promoters, technology providers, agricultural technology operators and power sector executives.
Manufacturers, consultants, technical managers, subcontractors and prospective buyers of goods and services are also among the groups expected to attend.
The organisers have indicated that the forum is intended for participants who can present their companies’ objectives, defend their projects and exercise decision making authority.
Speakers and industry representation
The announced speakers include Audrey Bading, managing director of Gettha Agency; Robyn Border, an enterprise skills development facilitator at the Cape Chamber of Commerce; and Madelein Mkunu, founder and chief executive officer of the Leading Women of Africa Group.
Dr Jordan Kondi Kondi, a business strategist and specialist in human capital and organisational development, is also listed among the speakers.
The programme is expected to bring together participants from across the continent and international investment markets, with discussions focused on practical business opportunities and ways to advance private sector cooperation.
Business matchmaking and project presentations
The forum will use a roundtable format through which companies, project coordinators, funding agencies and financial institutions can present their business models, explain their needs and explore potential commercial arrangements.
Private matchmaking rooms will provide space for one on one meetings and smaller discussions between prospective partners. Participants will also be able to arrange meetings in advance through a digital matchmaking platform.
Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their projects during dedicated sessions lasting between 15 and 20 minutes, giving them time to explain their proposals to potential investors and business partners.
A separate deal room will be available for parties that have progressed towards business transactions or collaborative arrangements and are preparing to formalise agreements.
The organisers say participants will receive a digital post event report documenting the sectors represented, projects presented, agreements signed, project values, sponsors and key presentations.
Networking beyond the conference
The programme also includes a third day of optional activities, with participants able to choose between a golf outing and a wine and food tasting experience along Cape Town’s wine routes.
The activities are intended to give delegates additional opportunities to establish professional relationships outside formal business sessions.
The event’s broader focus is on encouraging companies to identify new markets, access financing and build partnerships that can support the development of infrastructure, technology, agriculture, mining and energy projects across Africa.
Businesses interested in attending or sponsoring the forum can obtain further information through Gettha Agency. The organisers have advised that attendance is limited and encouraged prospective participants to secure their places in advance.
