Papua New Guinea – Eswatini’s Central Bank Deputy Governor Felicia Dlamini-Kunene has led key discussions on gender-inclusive finance at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Global Policy Forum, where she chaired the Gender Inclusive Finance Leaders’ Breakfast and Committee Meeting and presented the committee’s annual report to the AFI Board.
Dlamini-Kunene, who sits on AFI’s Gender Inclusive Finance Committee, steered conversations around using better data to inform policy, mentoring women leaders in regulatory institutions and securing sustainable support for AFI’s gender-inclusive finance programme.
The Global Policy Forum was preceded by the network’s Annual General Meeting, regional initiatives meetings and working group meetings. CBE Governor, who chairs the AFI Resource Mobilization Committee, presented at the AGM on the committee’s behalf.
Central Bank technical officials are also taking part in working group meetings covering SME finance, consumer empowerment and market conduct, digital financial services, financial inclusion data and inclusive green finance. Those working groups develop practical policy guidance and set AFI’s peer-learning and implementation priorities for the year ahead.
