DAKAR, Senegal | September 11, 2026 — Confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo have risen to 7,022, according to the latest government health data released on Friday.
The country’s public health institute reported that the outbreak has also reached a seventh province, with South Ubangi in northwestern Democratic Republic of Congo now affected.
The latest figures provide an indication of the expanding geographic reach of the outbreak as health authorities continue monitoring the spread of the virus across the country.
