Kenya and Uganda have concluded a successful two-day ministerial meeting in Kampala, Uganda, solidifying their strong relationship. The 2nd Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) focused on strengthening cooperation in various sectors, including security, trade, agriculture, education, health, tourism, and transportation.
Amb. Mburu, leading the Kenyan delegation, commended the hard work of technical teams from both countries for their productive discussions and agreements. He highlighted the long-standing bond between Kenya and Uganda, dating back to before independence.
Mburu emphasized Kenya’s commitment to regular consultations with Uganda to achieve their shared goals at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.
The JMC meeting paves the way for the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) by the Kenyan and Ugandan Foreign Affairs Ministers on May 14th, 2024. This session precedes a State Visit to Kenya by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni from May 15th to 17th, 2024.
