PIETERMARITZBURG, South Africa – South African singer AzureDé is set to release her new single, Imizwa, on 16 October 2026, bringing an emotional dimension to her growing presence in the country’s 3 Step and Afro house music scene.

Born in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal, the artist is part of a generation of musicians shaping the evolution of South African electronic dance music through distinctive sounds and collaborations. Her latest release explores the relationship between emotion and rhythm, presenting music as a way for people to connect with their feelings and personal experiences.

The title Imizwa, which refers to emotions and feelings, draws on a familiar concept within the South African cultural context. The song invites listeners from different backgrounds to find their own meaning in its sound, regardless of language or cultural differences.

“I’m excited for the world to hear Imizwa. This song is a labour of love, and at its heart is the desire to connect people through something we all share: feelings and emotions. We all carry things within us, and I hope this song creates a space for people to feel, let go and release whatever they may have been holding inside. For me, music goes beyond the dance floor. It should move you, inspire you and bring a little more light into your world,” she said.

AzureDé has been building her profile within South Africa’s dance music industry, contributing to the expanding 3 Step movement, which forms part of the country’s wider electronic music landscape.

Her growing catalogue includes collaborations with established local dance music artists Heavy K, MSA and Lady Du. These partnerships have helped broaden her reach as she continues to develop her musical identity and establish herself within the industry.
