ACCRA– The Government of Ghana has received the remains of eight individuals who perished in a military helicopter crash in Adansi, Ashanti Region, on Wednesday.
The Ghana Air Force aircraft carrying the bodies touched down at the Air Force Base in Accra at exactly 21:30 hours. A government delegation led by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah was present to receive the coffins, alongside top military personnel and ruling party officials.
Senior figures at the reception included commanders of the Ghana Armed Forces, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu, and Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu. Also in attendance were Presidential Staffer Joyce Bawa Mogtari and two Deputy Chiefs of Staff from the Presidency—Nana Oye Bampoe Addo and Stanislav Xoese Dogbe.
A brief military ceremony followed the arrival, during which prayers were offered for the deceased. The Ghana Armed Forces conducted full military protocols before the remains were moved to the morgue in hearses.
The victims included senior officials who had served in various national capacities.
