Ezulwini — The Government In Your Hand (GIYH) mobile app and the ERS TaxPal app were unveiled today, aiming to bring public services closer to emaSwati across the country. The launches took place in Ezulwini, led by Minister of ICT Savannah Maziya in partnership with the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS).
Minister Maziya said the GIYH app removes barriers of time, distance, and cost, allowing citizens to access government services without long queues or unnecessary expenses. The app currently enables users to track the status of IDs, passports, and travel documents, register businesses, pay vehicle licenses via Mobile Money, and access educational loan information. New services will be added every six months.
Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg praised the cooperation between government departments, describing the apps as tools that provide fast, transparent, and convenient access to essential services. He encouraged business owners and taxpayers to embrace the digital platforms for improved efficiency.
ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule explained that the TaxPal app will simplify tax and customs services by allowing users to manage their tax accounts, apply for tax clearance certificates, and interact with ERS remotely. Plans are underway to include more payment options for enhanced convenience.
The joint effort between the Ministry of ICT and ERS highlights the government’s commitment to digital inclusion, aiming to empower all Swazis — including rural residents, the youth, and differently-abled individuals — by making public service delivery more accessible.
The GIYH and TaxPal apps are available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users register with their national ID to begin accessing services and making payments digitally.
