Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to U.S. President Joe Biden’s comments on Tuesday, saying that Israel is an independent nation and its decisions are not influenced by external pressures.

Biden had urged Netanyahu to abandon the judicial changes that had led to protests and a political crisis in Israel.

“Israel is a sovereign country that makes decisions based on the will of its people, without external pressures, even from our closest friends,” Netanyahu stated, while also mentioning that his administration is striving for reforms via consensus.
