WINDHOEK, Namibia – Around 200 Namibians have completed a three-month Russian language training programme in Windhoek, gaining knowledge of the Russian language, culture and traditions as part of growing educational and cultural cooperation between Namibia and Russia.

The graduates received their certificates on 6 November at the Centre for Open Education in the Russian Language, marking the conclusion of this year’s training programme.

The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Hon. Prof. Dr David R. Namwandi, Founder and Council Chair of the International University of Management (IUM), which hosted the courses. Namwandi congratulated the participants on completing the programme and presented certificates to the graduates.

Darya Kapapa and Irina Podavylova, lecturers from Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University (PSHPU), also addressed the graduates, offering words of encouragement as they completed their language studies.

The three-month programme provided participants with an opportunity to develop Russian language skills while learning about the country’s cultural heritage and traditions.

The initiative is implemented by PSHPU with support from Russia’s Ministry of Education, the Russian Embassy in Namibia and the My History Foundation for the Support of the Humanities.
