Mbabane – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has called on emaSwati to adopt healthier lifestyles and donate blood to save lives.

He was speaking yesterday during a wellness day for the Prime Minister’s Office, organised in Mbabane with the Ministry of Health and the Public Sector HIV/AIDS Coordinating Committee.

The Prime Minister took part in the activities by donating blood, testing for diabetes and blood pressure, and checking his Body Mass Index. He also toured various service stalls where health workers shared information on available wellness programmes.

Free services were extended to staff, including cancer screening, HIV testing and Tuberculosis checks.

Dlamini expressed concern over the rising cases of obesity in the country, urging citizens to eat well, stay active and work with health officials to improve their well-being. “We note the increase in obesity in the country and we encourage emaSwati to practice a healthy lifestyle. I also encourage the Nation, along with corporate entities and organisations, to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to ensure that their employees donate blood,” he said.

Addressing wellness staff at the event, the Prime Minister reminded them of the importance of diligence, respect for their oath of duty and excellence in serving the Nation.
