MBABANE — Stand-up comedy and content creation duo Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane have launched their official website, www.gogoandslwane.com, marking a major step in the growth of their brand after more than five years in the entertainment industry.
The platform was unveiled last week Thursday at the Eswatini International Trade Fair, where the pair described it as an interactive, AI-enabled extension of their viral social media presence.
The website is designed to bring the duo closer to their audience by offering exclusive access to never-seen-before content, recordings of previous shows, and a livestream function. The livestream feature is aimed at their diaspora following, offering them a high-definition “VIP seat” to the duo’s often sold-out comedy shows.
Access to exclusive content and shows will be subscription-based. Local audiences will also be able to purchase event tickets and merchandise directly from the site.
Two audio-podcast-style programmes will run on the platform. Gogo will host “Siswati Sami: Bungimi Bami, Ligcabho”, a show focused on the Siswati language, Swati traditions and cultural education. S’lwane will host “Tea-Talk with S’lwane”, a lifestyle-themed programme exploring the childhoods of guests ranging from Eswatini corporate executives to the kingdom’s show-business personalities.
In line with their push to professionalise their operations, the website includes a digital booking platform. Clients will be able to book the duo for events without having to call or send an email.
S’lwane said the move was driven by the rapid pace of global change and the need to evolve with it.
“As the world advances quicker than anything we have ever witnessed, we felt it best to evolve along through this carefully designed website, through which we want all our people to have the front seat in all that happens in our world,” he said.
“A first of its kinds within our sector, we have been intentional on its packaging, as we wanted it to cover all segments of our market, from the personal to corporate in equal measure – and we want to invite all our people to interact with it, not as a substitute to our social media, but as a fitting complement to this,” S’lwane added.
Gogo said the platform was also about ownership and controlling the duo’s brand narrative as Eswatini’s digital and social media landscape grows.
“Importantly, the website has been developed to advance our ownership ambitions, and total control of our brand’s narrative – and yes, as Eswatini conditions herself for the social media prospects, we felt it best to be a step ahead and create something which will position us a step ahead through this website, which will also give us big control of our value-chain,” Gogo said.
“Within all this, ours then would be to humbly invited bonkhe boSwane baGogo to jump into: www.gogoandslwane.com and experience first-hand the magic we are cooking in that beautiful world of ours,” she added.
