Maputo – A Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) delegation led by National Commissioner of Police Mr. Manoma Vusie Masango concluded bilateral discussions with Mozambique’s Police (PRM) Executive at PRM Headquarters in Maputo Province.
The talks followed a courtesy call with Mozambique’s Minister of Interior, Churchine Paulo, who endorsed the engagement.
The REPS delegation included Senior Deputy National Commissioner Mr. Emmanuel Sula Dlamini, Deputy National Commissioner Ms. Mumcy Dlamini, Assistant Commissioners Mr. Julius Lukhele and Mr. Lisbon Mabuza, Superintendent Mr. Vusi Dlamini, Inspector Sipho Gumedze, and Inspector Welcome Shongwe.
Mozambique’s team was led by Inspector General His Excellency Joaquim Adriano Sive and included Mr. Antonio Bachir, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police and Border Branch Commander; Mr. Sinesio Machona Dias, Deputy Director General; Mr. Gelindo Vambuca, Assistant Commissioner of Police for Criminal Intelligence; Mr. Jordao Massingue, Director of Criminal Intelligence; and Ms. Aina Combo Andza, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Police Adviser at Mozambique High Commission in Eswatini.
Discussions focused on transnational organized crime, including illegal immigration, stock theft, smuggling of goods, drug and firearms trafficking, stolen motor vehicles, and joint operations. Officials proposed reviving joint operations and holding regular bilateral meetings to strengthen cross-border cooperation. They also agreed to review the existing Memorandum of Understanding to ensure effective security measures.
Masango said, “The working visit received blessings from His Majesty King Mswati III and President Daniel Francisco Chapo to strengthen cooperation and security. We deliberated on matters affecting both countries and proposed reviving cooperation and collaboration. I am impressed with the outcome pending legal review of the existing MoU.”
