Mbabane – Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA) has begun developing national product specifications for locally manufactured food products to improve quality and market access for small businesses.

The authority hosted a Technical Committee Meeting on Friday, 18 July 2025, where stakeholders met in Mbabane to draft standards for products such as cake mix, rusks, avocado oil, and mushroom powder.

These specifications will support the Ingelo Certification, a national quality seal that guarantees products meet set safety and competitiveness benchmarks.

The meeting brought together representatives from SEDCO, the University of Eswatini, Bhetha Cakes, Nakakitsi Beauty Products, Federation of Eswatini Business Community (FESBC), Matsapha Town Council, the Ministry of Health, and Lovenotes Biscuits.
