Mbabane, Eswatini – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Eswatini’s Prime Minister Russell Dlamini on Monday, discussing the long-standing relationship between the two nations and prospects for closer cooperation.

According to U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the conversation touched on the strong diplomatic ties between Washington and Mbabane, with Rubio expressing a desire to expand collaboration. No further details were provided on specific areas of engagement.

Eswatini, one of the United States’ diplomatic partners in Africa, has ongoing cooperation with Washington in sectors such as trade, health, and governance.
