Manzini police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Mkhulamini in connection with the attempted murder of his 41-year-old uncle on February 15, 2026.

According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service, the incident occurred at around 1940 hours when the victim, reportedly intoxicated, entered the home of his nephew and provoked him. “The suspect attempted to reason with the intoxicated individual, but the situation escalated as the uncle continued to pester him. The suspect retrieved a bush knife and attacked the victim, hacking him multiple times all over his body,” the police statement said.

Authorities responded swiftly and arrested the suspect at approximately 2030 hours. He is expected to appear before the Manzini Magistrates Court on February 17, 2026.

Meanwhile, Pigg’s Peak police are investigating a separate attempted murder case in the Nsangwini area. An 89-year-old woman was stabbed three times on the stomach, below the left breast, and in the right arm with a spear by her 30-year-old grandson on February 14, 2026, at around 1900 hours. The suspect fled the scene and police are actively searching for him.
