New York – Nigerian music star Davido has joined business leader Aliko Dangote for a conversation about the public offering of shares in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE, as the company seeks to give eligible Nigerian investors an opportunity to become shareholders.
The discussion, presented as a meeting between two generations of Nigerian ambition, focuses on Dangote’s “IPO for the People” and how Nigerians can participate in the offer.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE public offer involves 4.1 billion ordinary shares. The offer opened on 14 September 2026 and is scheduled to close on 13 October 2026.
Each share is priced at ₦525, with the minimum subscription set at 10 shares, costing ₦5,250.
The campaign encourages prospective investors to learn about the offer and understand the risks associated with buying shares before submitting applications.
The official IPO platform states that eligible investors can apply for shares and, if shares are allotted to them, become shareholders in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE.
The public offer is being promoted through approved subscription channels, with investors directed to use SEC approved Receiving Agents or Electronic Application Channels.
The official website also warns prospective investors to remain alert to fraudulent schemes and says subscriptions should only be made through approved channels.
“STAY SAFE. SUBSCRIBE ONLY THROUGH APPROVED CHANNELS.”
It further states: “We will never ask for your PIN, password or OTP.”
The IPO campaign is structured around three stages: learning about the offer, preparing the required information and documents, and subscribing through an approved channel.
The campaign advises prospective investors to read the prospectus before making a decision and to consult their Issuing House, stockbrokers or financial advisers where they require further guidance.
The prospectus contains information about the public offer, the refinery and the risks associated with investing in the shares.
The campaign also carries a direct warning that investing in shares involves risk, with the value of an investment capable of falling as well as rising. Investors may also receive less than the amount they initially invested.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, located at the Lekki Free Zone in Lagos, is one of Nigeria’s major private sector investments in the energy sector. The refinery forms part of Aliko Dangote’s wider industrial interests through the Dangote Group.

The latest campaign uses Davido’s public conversation with Dangote to bring attention to the share offer and its stated aim of widening Nigerian participation in ownership of the refinery.
Prospective subscribers can also obtain information about the IPO, the refinery, subscription process, frequently asked questions, investor guidance and the prospectus through the official “IPO for the People” platform.
The campaign directs Nigerians interested in participating to send INVEST via WhatsApp to +234 812 731 9521 and follow the stated steps on NGX Invest.
The offer opened on 14 September and is due to close on 13 October 2026, subject to the terms and conditions contained in the prospectus.
