NEW YORK, United States: Lesotho’s Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Nthati Moorosi, has participated in discussions on artificial intelligence and digital transformation during the 2026 United Nations Digital Cooperation Day in New York.
Moorosi took part in a panel discussion titled “Introducing the AI Strategy Blueprint: Turning National Ambition into Action” on September 21, 2026, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The session brought together government representatives, private sector leaders, civil society organisations, academics and industry experts to examine practical approaches to digital cooperation and the development of national capacity in emerging technologies.
Discussions focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence, digital transformation and strategies for strengthening countries’ ability to develop and use digital technologies.
Lesotho’s participation also provided an opportunity for the Mountain Kingdom to share its experience with the UN Blueprint for National AI and Data Strategies.
According to the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Lesotho is the first country to apply the UN Blueprint for National AI and Data Strategies.
The AI Strategy Blueprint session gave Lesotho a platform to share lessons from its experience and discuss how national ambitions around artificial intelligence can be translated into practical programmes and action.
