MBABANE, Eswatini: The European Union and the Government of Eswatini have launched new trade and investment intelligence tools designed to give businesses, investors and policymakers better access to economic information.

The tools were introduced through a partnership involving the EU, the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and the International Trade Centre (ITC), with support from the European Union.

Speaking during the launch, EU Ambassador to Eswatini H.E. Karsten Mecklenburg said access to reliable information was essential for businesses and decision makers seeking to operate in an increasingly competitive global economy.

“Successful participation in today’s global economy requires more than ambition. It requires information.”

The newly introduced Investment Attractiveness Dashboard and Market Intelligence Dashboard provide users with practical economic data intended to assist them in assessing markets, identifying opportunities and making informed decisions.

The platforms are expected to provide businesses and potential investors with information that can support market analysis, while also giving policymakers access to data that can inform economic planning and trade related decisions.

Officially launching the tools, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo described them as fundamental economic assets for Eswatini.

Khumalo also commended the European Union for its continued partnership with Eswatini and its support for economic activities in the country.
