On Wednesday, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, declared Friday, April 7, 2023 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 10, 2023 (Easter Monday) as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Easter celebrations.

Aregbesola, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaib Begore, urged Christians to follow the examples of Jesus Christ by practicing virtues such as sacrifice, forgiveness, peace, and patience.

He also called on Nigerians to pray for an end to the security challenges in some parts of the country and support the efforts of security agencies to ensure peace and security of lives and property.

Aregbesola wished Christians both at home and in the Diaspora a happy and peaceful Easter celebration and encouraged them to show kindness and generosity to their neighbors, especially the less privileged.

The Minister reassured Nigerians that the Federal Government is committed to ensuring a peaceful transition of government after the elections and urged everyone to use their creative energy positively for the realization of prosperity.
