Accra – Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama welcomed Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada to the Presidency on Friday, calling for closer collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

Ghana, which hosts the AfCFTA headquarters, has seen over 50 countries ratify the agreement. Leaders noted the opportunity for joint African and Caribbean investments to access a market of 1.3 billion people with a combined GDP exceeding $3 trillion.

The meeting covered political consultations, trade, culture, education, and visa arrangements. It also provided a platform to advance cooperation, including MoUs on political consultation and the provision of Ghanaian nurses to Grenada.
