Mbabane – The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs has received equipment worth USD 10,000 (about E180,000) from the UNDP to aid the rollout of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS). The handover took place at the ministry offices, with UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Nessie Golakai-Gould presenting the donation to Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Prince Simelane.
The IECMS will be used by the Royal Eswatini Police, His Majesty’s Correctional Services, and other justice sector stakeholders. The system aims to digitalise court operations, improve case tracking, reduce delays, and enhance transparency and accountability.
Golakai-Gould said the system supports Eswatini’s development goals and Sustainable Development Goal 16, which promotes peace, justice, and strong institutions.
Minister Simelane described the IECMS as a digital transformation initiative linking the operations of the police, Anti-Corruption Commission, Prosecution, Attorney General’s Office, Judiciary, Law Society, Correctional Services, Human Rights Commission, and the Ministry of ICT.
