Kasane – The Eswatini Environment Authority attended the Congress of Women Conserving Southern Africa in Kasane, Botswana, from 15 to 20 February 2026.
The event gathered civil society, government representatives, academics, scientists, and practitioners from across the region to discuss climate change, biodiversity conservation, indigenous knowledge, and community-based natural resource management. Participants shared experiences, explored regional collaboration, and examined the role of women in advancing conservation.
EEA’s involvement reflects Eswatini’s commitment to multilateral environmental agreements, including the Nagoya Protocol under the Convention on Biological Diversity. The Kingdom recently submitted its first national report on the protocol, showing progress in ensuring fair and equitable sharing of benefits from genetic resources while strengthening biodiversity governance.
