Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Eswatini is making its mark at the 26th United Nations Tourism General Assembly taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 7 to 11 November 2025.
The delegation from the Kingdom is led by the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, who is accompanied by the Chairperson of the Tourism Portfolio Committee, Welcome Dlamini, Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) Chief Executive Officer Vusie N. Dlamini, and ETA Board Member Samkelisiwe Dlamini.
The gathering, held under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” has drawn government officials, global tourism executives and development partners to discuss the evolving landscape of tourism and technology. Eswatini’s participation focuses on strengthening its global presence while exploring innovative approaches to tourism development through artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
According to the delegation, Eswatini seeks to align its tourism strategies with international standards to drive sustainable growth and promote community-led initiatives that benefit local people. The discussions also centre on tourism’s potential to contribute to economic diversification, create employment opportunities and promote environmental responsibility across the Kingdom.
