TETFund has pointed out the shortage of skills in critical sectors in Nigeria which indicates that industry-ready graduates are not being produced.
TETFund’s executive secretary, Sonny Echono, made the remarks during an interactive meeting with rectors and directors of research across polytechnics on National Research Fund (NRF) grants.
Echono urged polytechnics to engage in quality research proposals that can be translated into innovative and commercial use, and to offer solutions to the developmental challenges facing Nigeria.
He emphasized the need to produce graduates that meet industry requirements, are fit for purpose, and can contribute to the growth of the economy.
