MBABANE – Tourist arrivals to Eswatini rose to 97,745 in June 2025, reflecting a 16.4% increase from the same month last year, according to data released by the Eswatini Tourism Authority’s Research Department.
The bulk of travellers came from the region, with South Africa accounting for 63,337 visitors — up 9.6%. Mozambique followed with 17,456 arrivals, showing a sharp rise of 39.2%, while Zimbabwe contributed 4,908 tourists, an 18.8% increase from the previous year.
From overseas, the United States maintained its lead with 1,192 arrivals despite a 5% drop. The UK sent 568 visitors — a significant 29.7% increase — while France recorded a slight decline of 1.1% with 782 arrivals.
Malawi, Lesotho, and Botswana were identified as Eswatini’s top three emerging markets, although their specific figures were not included in the report.
Tourists spent an average of 2.04 nights in the country during the reporting period.
