MBABANE – World Vision Eswatini’s Regional Leader for Southern Africa, Matthew Pickard, held discussions today with Eswatini’s Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Honourable Senator Thulisile Dladla, at her offices in Mbabane.
The courtesy visit served to solidify the ongoing collaboration between World Vision Eswatini and the Government. Pickard conveyed appreciation for the invaluable support received from the DPM’s Office, particularly through the Children’s Unit. He noted the DPM’s commitment to issues affecting children, which aligns directly with World Vision’s core mission as an organisation focused on child welfare.
Key discussions during the meeting revolved around leveraging universal access to water as a pivotal step for broader development initiatives. This included strategies to guarantee lasting food security for the most vulnerable populations across the kingdom. The dialogue also covered the development of homegrown school feeding programmes for Eswatini’s educational institutions, alongside other impactful projects designed to alleviate poverty.
Both parties reached a consensus that all future strategies must ensure no one is left behind, particularly the nation’s most vulnerable citizens, including children, their families, and communities.
