The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) is investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl from Ngoyiya (Ka-Ndinda) after she was found allegedly having ingested a poisonous substance over the weekend.

According to the Sidvokodvo police, the teenager was discovered by her grandmother on 22 March 2026 at around 10:30 AM. She was immediately rushed to RFM Hospital, but was confirmed dead upon arrival. An inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death has been launched.

The police urged parents and guardians to maintain open and honest relationships with their children. “Encouraging them to speak freely if they encounter any problems or challenges is very important,” the REPS statement read. They also stressed the need for regular check-ins and creating an environment where children feel comfortable to share their concerns.
