Mliba police have opened an investigation after a 35-year-old woman from Nsingweni was found dead floating in the Black Mbuluzi river on Friday morning.

According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service, the woman had multiple gashing wounds across her body. She was last seen on Thursday night leaving her rented flat in Luve with a 27-year-old male acquaintance. She was discovered around 7:00 am the following morning.

The man she was last seen with, a resident of Mbelebeleni, was found at approximately 1:00 am on Friday inside his car at his family compound, having ingested a poisonous substance. He was rushed to Dvokolwako Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service urged the public to “always find amicable solutions to disagreements instead of resorting to violence as it leads to a never ending cycle of violence in our communities.”
