Mbabane – A 21-year-old man from Nkhokhokhweni appeared before Mbabane Magistrates Court and was sentenced to two years in prison or a fine of E2 000 following his arrest for housebreaking and theft.

Police said the suspect was arrested on Friday, 9 January 2026, after investigations linked him to a break-in on 9 December 2025 at a Nkhokhokhweni home. He allegedly entered the house through the door and stole traditional regalia valued at E76 750.

Authorities made a breakthrough when they received a tip that the suspect was trying to sell the stolen items in Manzini. Police tracked and arrested him, recovering some of the stolen regalia during the operation.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service noted that community information was crucial in resolving the case.
