Berea, Lesotho – The British High Commission in Lesotho marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities today by joining celebrations in Berea at Pitso House. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development and the Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD).

Her Excellency Martine Sobey attended the gathering, recognising the contributions and achievements of persons with disabilities. The occasion focused on promoting inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities across social, economic, and political spheres.

This year’s theme, “Fostering Inclusive Societies for Social Progress,” called on communities to empower persons with disabilities and ensure they are able to participate fully in national development. The High Commission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that break barriers and promote diversity and equality.
