The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association has entered a new phase of international cooperation after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee during a ceremony attended by sports officials from both countries.
The agreement was signed under the leadership of EOCGA President Adam Mthethwa, who is currently in Chinese Taipei with members of the association’s delegation. The signing marked the strengthening of a long standing relationship between Eswatini and Chinese Taipei, a partnership built through decades of diplomatic and sporting ties.
The ceremony brought together representatives from both committees, including Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee President Eric Lin and his board, who hosted the Eswatini delegation. The Lesotho National Olympic Committee was also present as a regional partner.
EOCGA was represented by Chief Executive Officer Maxwell Jele and Treasurer Zakhele Zulu. The organisation said the agreement is expected to open opportunities for athlete development, technical exchange and closer collaboration between the two Olympic bodies.
