Nigerian film stars who are currently visiting Rwanda for the Rwanda International Movie Awards 2023 have urged for unity across the African continent to overcome divisive politics.

After paying their respects to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, actors including IK Ogbonna, Ini Edo, and comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, praised the progress Rwanda has made in the past and emphasized the importance of working together as a unified continent.

Ogbonna praised President Paul Kagame for his efforts in restoring peace and unity in Rwanda, while Edo expressed her desire to work on a film project about the Genocide.

The actors were joined by local film stars, including Ramadhan Benimana, Jeanette Bahavu, and Alliance Isimbi (Alliah Cool).
