According to police, the victims were travelling in a charcoal Mercedes-Benz with Gauteng registration plates when unknown gunmen opened fire around 11:00 near the local hospital. The car was left riddled with bullet holes.

Two of the men were declared dead at the scene by paramedics, while the third succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Investigators recovered several cartridges from the area.

No arrests have been made. Police appealed to members of the public with information to contact the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111 or use the MYSAPSAPP, assuring confidentiality for informants.
