Mbabane – Tourism and Environmental Affairs Minister Jane Mkhonta-Simelane has named a nine-member board to lead the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) amid efforts to revive the sector.
The new chairperson, Penelope Mkhwanazi, will be joined by Thembayena Dlamini, Elizabeth Anne, Christine Ndlovu, Nkululeko Dlamini, Phila Manyatsi, Samu Dlamini, Vusi Dlamini, and Njabuliso Gwebu.
Minister Mkhonta-Simelane told the board their leadership comes at a critical time for the tourism industry, which faces economic challenges but also opportunities for growth. She called for collaboration with management, government, and private stakeholders while maintaining transparency and accountability.
“Your tenure should bring transformation, innovation, and lasting impact,” she said. The board is expected to drive strategies to boost tourism and strengthen Eswatini’s position as a regional destination.
