Osaka, Japan – Visitor numbers to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan have soared past the five million mark, just 44 days since the event opened. Organisers confirmed the milestone was reached on 26 May, with a special ceremony held at the East Gate Plaza to commemorate the occasion.

Hiroyuki Ishige, Secretary General of the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, told attendees that visitor numbers jumped from four to five million in only seven days, a sign of growing public interest in the international showcase.

The five millionth visitor received a commemorative gift package, which included a Night Ticket offering access to the Expo after 4:00pm. Expo organisers are encouraging guests to stay into the evening to enjoy the sunset from the Grand Ring and the glow of illuminated pavilions.

The event’s official mascot, Myaku-Myaku, made an appearance during the ceremony, adding colour and celebration to the gathering.
