Man remanded for Ngonini sexual assault

Lubulini police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man from Ngonini with violating the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act of 2018, following allegations that he raped a 14-year-old girl from the same area.

According to the Royal Eswatini Police Service, the incident occurred on July 12, 2025. The suspect allegedly took the girl from her home to his residence in Ngonini, where she was held for two days. The victim returned home on July 14, 2025, and told her family what had happened. Police subsequently opened a Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence case.

The suspect reportedly went into hiding after the incident but was apprehended on March 12, 2026, at about 1600 hours. He appeared before the Siteki Magistrate’s Court on Friday, March 13, 2026, and was remanded in custody until March 17, 2026.
