The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has hosted a delegation from the Philippines based Delgado Brothers Group (DELBROS) as the two sides explored opportunities for trade, investment and business partnerships between Philippine and Zambian companies.

The delegation, led by Simon Villalon, represents the diversified family owned enterprise, which has business interests spanning agriculture, logistics, transportation and technology.

The engagement with ZDA focused on connecting DELBROS with Zambian businesses and identifying areas where companies from the two countries could pursue commercial ventures, strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.

Welcoming the delegation, ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa said the growing number of prospective investors visiting Zambia demonstrated the country’s appeal as an investment destination.

Mr Halwampa said visits by investors seeking opportunities across different sectors were an indication of growing confidence in Zambia’s investment environment.

He pointed to the country’s stable political environment and favourable investment policies as factors supporting its attractiveness to international investors.

Villalon said DELBROS was interested in gaining a better understanding of Zambia’s investment environment, particularly the opportunities available in agriculture, renewable energy and technology.

The delegation’s visit is aimed at assessing opportunities for commercial operations and investment while also examining prospects for technology transfer, strategic partnerships and joint ventures with Zambian companies.

The Philippine business group is also seeking to identify potential areas of collaboration that could support longer term business relationships between companies in Zambia and the Philippines.
