Mbabane, Eswatini – The Eswatini International Trade Fair 2024 concluded with a celebration of excellence and generosity. In a heartwarming gesture, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini rewarded the competition’s dance group winners, No Hard Feelings, with E10,000 to purchase a new dance outfit.
During the closing ceremony of the EITF 2024 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, the Prime Minister also crowned His Majesty’s Correctional Services as the overall winners of the EITF 2024 Stand Excellence Awards.
Addressing the attendees, PM Dlamini expressed his admiration for the dance group, drawing inspiration from a recent trip to Indonesia where he witnessed a captivating dance performance. “I was deeply impressed by the dancers’ outfits and thought to myself that Eswatini could achieve something similar,” he stated. “I wish for this talented group to select an outfit of their choice so they can truly shine on stage.”
The Prime Minister further emphasized the significant growth of the Eswatini International Trade Fair over the past 56 years, highlighting its transformation from a simple trade event into a vibrant platform for networking, business innovation, and market expansion. He noted that the fair aligns perfectly with the government’s recently completed Programme of Action and the Grand Plan of Transformation, both aimed at accelerating economic growth.
This year’s theme, “Accelerate Business Growth through Digital Transformation,” resonated strongly with the government’s vision of “Government in Your Hand.” PM Dlamini expressed satisfaction with the event’s ability to foster dialogue among stakeholders and government officials on the crucial topic of digital transformation.
Beyond the dance group and the overall winners, the EITF 2024 also recognized other outstanding participants. Olivert Bongi Mukabeta of Mbikwakhe walked away with a Toyota Starlet Cross worth over E320,000 as the winner of the Win-A-Car competition. Additionally, various government departments, agencies, and private companies were awarded for their exceptional contributions.
