AWAZA, TURKMENISTAN – His Majesty King Mswati III wrapped up his visit to Turkmenistan by attending the colourful National Days Exhibition of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held at the Amphi Theatre on Wednesday evening.

The King, who had arrived in Awaza on Sunday for the 3rd United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), was joined by Inkhosikati LaMotsa, cabinet ministers Pholile Shakantu, Chief Ndlaluhlaza, Manqoba Khumalo and Savannah Maziya, as well as senior officials including Chief Ndingi Zacharia, Prince Mlayeto, Princess Nqobile, Chief Officer Mgwagwa Gamedze, Mbongeni Simelane and Eswatini’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Thami Dlamini.

During the visit, the King was received by Turkmenistan’s Vice Prime Minister for Trade, Business and Banking, Nokerguly Atagylyyev, who took him on a guided tour of the exhibition, which featured cultural showcases from all five Central Asian countries.

His Majesty was treated to a display of traditional artefacts, regional cuisines, and cultural dances. At one of the Turkmenistan booths, the King was dressed in traditional Turkmen attire and later shared a meal in a traditional round hut known locally as a Guca.

The evening ended with a brief stop at a concert featuring musicians and performers from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
