WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA – Eswatini delivered a confident start to the SADC Corrections/Prisons/Penitentiary Services Sports and Cultural Games by securing back-to-back victories over Tanzania in soccer and tug of war.

The tournament, which kicked off on August 4 and continues until August 8, is being hosted in Windhoek and brings together correctional services from across the region to promote wellness, camaraderie, and cultural exchange.

Eswatini’s soccer team edged out Tanzania with a 1–0 win in a tightly contested match held yesterday evening. The victory was followed by a strong performance from Tigem’gem, the national tug of war side, who pulled off a clean 2–0 result.

The wins mark an early advantage for Eswatini at the regional games, with both teams showing readiness and discipline on the field.
