MBABANE – AlphSZ has committed E100 000 to support the upcoming Border to Border Cycle Tour, a growing sporting and tourism event that stretches across the Kingdom from Ngwenya to Lavumisa.
The announcement was made by AlphSZ CEO Thandile Nxumalo, who confirmed the company’s financial contribution to the long-distance cycling event, describing it as part of their ongoing efforts to promote wellness and healthy lifestyles in Eswatini. The 240-kilometre route will take cyclists through some of the country’s most scenic landscapes, bringing together riders from across the region.
The cycle tour, scheduled for later this year, has been gaining attention not only for its fitness appeal but also as a platform to market Eswatini’s tourism potential to international audiences. The event is supported by institutions such as Mbabane City Council, Manzini City Council, Eswatini Tourism, and the country’s road safety authorities.
Eswatini Tourism Authority CEO Vusi Dlamini has called on locals to embrace the event, saying it contributes positively to the Kingdom’s visibility in the global tourism market. He pointed to the recent partnership between Eswatini and KwaZulu-Natal as a step forward in strengthening regional ties through such initiatives.
Organisers say the tour will cater to both amateur and experienced cyclists, offering a mix of endurance and exploration.
