MBABANE – The Eswatini Revenue Service has welcomed a delegation from the SACU Secretariat for the 2026 Intra-SACU Trade Data Audit Mission.

The delegation, comprising Katiso Ramalebo, Thuto Mathesa and Dr Abel Mboweni, was received on Monday by ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule and senior management.

The biennial mission is assessing Eswatini’s compliance with the SACU Data Integrity Minimum Standards and reviewing the controls used to collect, verify and submit intra-SACU trade information.

The audit also seeks to establish whether trade data submitted by SACU member states is consistent, complete and comparable.

The information is used in determining the revenue shares allocated to member states under the Southern African Customs Union.

The mission will assess the effectiveness of the prescribed systems and controls in place for administering customs and trade data.
