CAPE TOWN, South Africa, September 17, 2026 South African mixed martial artist Nkosi Ndebele is building an increasingly prominent international profile after a series of victories that have taken him from the PFL Africa circuit to major international events.
Ndebele became the inaugural PFL Africa Bantamweight Tournament Champion in December 2025 after defeating fellow South African Boule Godogo by knockout at the PFL Africa Finals in Cotonou, Benin.
His international campaign has continued through 2026. After defeating Italy’s Michele Clemente by unanimous decision at PFL Africa’s Pretoria event in April, Ndebele accepted another opportunity on short notice in the United States.
In August, he stepped in to face Marcirley Alves at PFL Tampa after the originally scheduled opponent withdrew. Ndebele had only eight days to prepare for the bout and went on to defeat Alves by unanimous decision at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa. The official PFL results list the judges’ scores as 29 to 28, 29 to 28 and 30 to 27 in Ndebele’s favour.
The result added another international victory to a professional career that the PFL currently lists at 14 wins and three losses, including a 6 and 0 record under the PFL banner.
Ndebele’s rise has also placed him among a growing group of African fighters seeking opportunities beyond the continent. His career has increasingly combined competition at the highest levels of MMA with his stated ambition of representing South Africa internationally and creating greater visibility for African athletes.
“I want people to see what is possible when you commit to something and refuse to put a limit on yourself. I’m proud to represent South Africa and Africa, and I want my career to open doors for the athletes who come after me. This is bigger than just fighting.” said Ndebele.
His short notice victory over Alves has become one of the clearest examples of the preparation and discipline behind his recent rise. Speaking about the unusual circumstances surrounding the bout, Ndebele previously said he had little time to prepare and instead relied on the work he had already completed before the opportunity emerged.
The South African fighter has said his ambitions extend beyond individual victories. He wants to establish himself among the leading names in the Professional Fighters League while using his international platform to encourage young African athletes to pursue professional sporting careers.
For Ndebele, representing South Africa is also part of a wider personal mission. His stated goals include competing against leading fighters internationally, developing a lasting profile outside the cage and creating opportunities for athletes who follow him.
His career has been built around technical striking, composure and preparation, while recent performances have given him opportunities to compete in front of audiences in both Africa and the United States.
Ndebele’s 2025 PFL Africa championship was followed by a successful defence of his position on the international stage through wins over Clemente, Brandon Davis and Alves during 2026. The PFL records his victories over Davis in Washington DC in July and Alves in Tampa in August.
