AZILE Manci’s father was in the Eastern Cape when he got a chilling phone call that will haunt him for the rest of his life.
The call came from killers in Cape Town, who told the 61-year-old Neli Manci they were about to kill his 20-year-old son.
Neli said the evil killers even allowed Azile to say his last goodbyes to him.“I could hear his voice shaking like he was going to cry,” said the sad dad. “He said to me he had made a terrible mistake but he didn’t explain.”
Azile’s body was found in Kosovo kasi, Nyanga, several hours later on Sunday.Azola (23) said his brother lived in Philippi and was visiting relatives in Kosovo when he was murdered.
Family member Linda Mabongo (37) said he had bruises all over his body.“They did not only rob him of his cellphone and shoes, they also robbed him of his life,” said Linda.
Nomvuzo Qula (35) said she heard the victim pleading for his life on Saturday night.“He kept asking what he had done to deserve death,” she said.
Captain Frederick van Wyk said: “The victim’s body was discovered at about 7.20am. A murder case was registered. The victim was reportedly assaulted with stones by residents. He died on the scene.”
